Summary:

The Facilities Operations Technician 1 will be part of the facilities operations and process support teams. The role will be that of a technician to support the operation, maintenance, repair and project activities for equipment and associated areas. The job will require flexibility, initiative, dedication and the ability to learn new systems and the ability to teach others how those systems operate. This position will transition into a 12-hour work shift, after orientation and training are completed.



Responsibilities:

Support facilities operations, maintenance, repair activities and projects for assigned areas with technical knowledge and hands on assistance.

Perform daily tasks and manage workloads assigned.

Maintain utility infrastructure safety, reliability and capacity.

Provide technical expertise to meet daily operations targets and production goals.

Ensure all deliverables comply with associated contract documents, codes, and regulations.

Assist in chemical transfers and the containment/disposal of hazardous materials.

Operate mobile equipment such as a scissor lifts, fork trucks, aerial lifts, side by sides, hand-jacks, and other equipment as required.



Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Techincal Certificate or degree desired but not required.

1-2 years of related work experience.



Knowledge/skills:

Positive attitude, open minded, and team player.

Strong safety acumen.

Ability to mentor & develop team members on key technical information & requirements.

Multi-craft technical skills: Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general maintenance

Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial utility and infrastructure systems.

Ability to work from heights or within confined spaces.

Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer programs related to maintaining and tracking equipment status.

Demonstrate basic math and reading comprehension.

Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, decision making and troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.

Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly.

Ability to multitask and balance multiple projects simultaneously.

Works well within a collaborative environment.

Ability to balance the wants / needs of the customer with Facilities Operational requirements.

Steam boiler experience a plus.



Additional requirements:

Ability to work in office, shop and outdoor environments.

Work a 12-hour Pitman schedule.

Ability to wear required PPE for the task being performed which includes (but not limited to) respirators, chemical and Tyvek suits, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, gloves and chemical boots.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Will need to work in various weather conditions.

Flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary.

Must be able to speak and read English.

Korean language proficiency a plus.

This role could require up to 5% of travel. (domestic or international)
