Required Qualification
• 1–3+ years of relevant manufacturing, production-support, or technician experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations, ideally as a Manufacturing Technician, Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Technologist, or similar role.
• Ability to work effectively with assemblers and other non-technical personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train, and coach others.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Strong judgment and commitment to quality.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work overtime based on production and staffing needs, potentially several days per month.
Preferred Qualifications
• Medical-device manufacturing experience.
• Cleanroom manufacturing experience.
• Trade school certification, apprenticeship, specialized technical training, or equivalent experience in electronics, engineering technology, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
• Experience with equipment troubleshooting, scrap investigation, root-cause analysis, or production improvement.
• Previous experience training, teaching, mentoring, or coaching others.
Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Medical Device Manufacturing
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technician to provide front-line technical support in a fast-paced medical-device manufacturing environment in Plymouth, MN.
This is a highly visible, production-focused role. You will spend 90%+ of your time in the cleanroom and on the manufacturing floor, working directly with Operations to resolve production issues, investigate scrap, troubleshoot equipment, monitor line performance, and coach assemblers.
The ideal candidate is a practical problem solver who enjoys being close to the product, can work independently, and is comfortable making sound quality and production decisions in a fast-changing environment.
What You’ll Do
• Provide hands-on technical support to Operations throughout the production shift, responding to scrap, process questions, equipment issues, and other escalations.
• Develop SME-level knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and best practices.
• Partner with Operations to coach and develop assemblers on proper processes and quality expectations.
• Investigate scrap and defects by performing product dissection, observing manufacturing processes, and discussing issues directly with assemblers.
• Use production data and objective evidence to identify root causes and provide actionable feedback to frontline employees.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and complete required documentation.
• Monitor line performance and proactively identify issues before they impact production or quality.
• Drive immediate corrective actions or escalate issues to the appropriate Engineering, Quality, or Operations partners.
• Build strong working relationships with employees across different functions, backgrounds, and experience levels.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on product quality, safety, and production requirements. - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
