Job Description
Required Education & Experience
• Preferred Path: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing/Engineering Technology, or related) with 2+ years of experience.
• Alternate Path 1: Master's degree in Engineering with 1+ year of experience.
• Alternate Path 2: Associate’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Alternate Path 3: High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience.

Technical Skills:
• Ability to observe and identify safety risks in manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in performing common engineering computations.
• Strong analytical skills to determine the root cause of issues.
• Ability to make engineering sketches and drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and related engineering applications.

Job Responsibilities
• Act as a first responder to provide immediate engineering support to the Lower Powertrain (LPT) Assembly production line.
• Study time, motion, methods, and speed to establish production rates and improve efficiency (perform time studies).
• Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and formulas to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, and production schedules.
• Read worker logs and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance standards.
• Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, layouts, and machine utilization.
• Create and maintain process documentation: Standard Work, Visual Aids, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, and Control Plans.
• Provide assembly line support to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for issues.
• Perform standard work audits during daily Safety Interactions.
• Review and complete assigned Built-In-Quality (BIQ) and Continuous Improvement (CI) tasks.
• Generate purchase requisitions, Tool Orders, Requests for Estimates, and Safe Job Procedures.

• Comfort with a high level of daily interaction with team members and factory assembly workers.

Work Environment Requirement:
• Must be willing and able to work in a factory environment, wearing appropriate PPE, for approximately two-thirds of the work time.
