• Strong documentation and analytical skills
• Experience producing current-state and future-state technical designs
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with CICS
• Experience with DB2, DB2 Utilities, and SQL

• Production support experience within a mainframe environment

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Analyst to support and assess a legacy batch-processing environment. This role is focused on analyzing existing custom-developed mainframe applications, documenting current-state functionality, and providing recommendations for future-state design. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and extensive experience interpreting COBOL-based applications within a batch processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze existing custom-developed mainframe applications to determine program functionality, business logic, and data flow.
• Review and interpret COBOL and JCL code to document current-state ("as-is") processes.
• Develop recommendations and technical designs for future-state ("to-be") solutions.
• Support maintenance and modernization efforts for legacy batch applications.
• Troubleshoot and provide production support for batch processing issues.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to document requirements and technical specifications.
• Utilize Jira to track work items, defects, and project progress.
• Collaborate with development teams during application enhancements and modernization initiatives.

This individual will be comfortable working independently to analyze complex COBOL applications while collaborating with technical teams to improve system understanding and maintainability.
