Job Description
***Only qualified Legal Assistant (Personal Injury Defense Litigation) candidates with the ability to Work from Home (WFH); yet travel to the New York office as needed.***

Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities:
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary in an insurance defense law office, personal injury law office or litigation firm.
• Strong working knowledge of the New York State court systems and processes.
• Demonstratable experience in a high-volume litigation environment with familiarity in document production, discovery preparation, Outlook calendar maintenance and data maintenance.
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with case management software.
• Strong familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, & PowerPoint).
• Ability to meet productivity targets in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, especially regarding prioritizing work activities for multiple attorneys.
• Must be able to create and edit electronic documents in TIF, PDF and JPG formats.
• Must be highly organized, able to multitask, with a high volume of work.

Desired Skills, Experience, & Abilities:
• Experience in personal injury work is strongly preferred.
• Trial preparation experience is a plus.

Role:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide litigation support. The ideal candidate will be joining a legal support team that is dedicated to personal injury defense litigation. The selected candidate for this position will work remotely in support of our New York City office (however, occasional onsite meetings may be required).

Responsibilities:
• Utilize appropriate software in a paperless environment to timely prepare, E-file and serve correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, discovery, deposition notices and other documents required by the New York State courts.
• Assist attorneys as needed in preparation for trial.
• Review electronic mail daily.
• Maintain our electronic legal files.
• Process invoices for payment.
• Demonstrate a professional demeanor during every interaction with clients, opposing counsel, attorneys, teammates, Claim partners and court personnel.
• Assist in overall support of the office as needed, including, mail handling, filing in an electronic case management system, CD duplication, PDF creation and compilation, file conversion, etc.
• Maintain Attorney calendars based on court notifications and depositions.
