Job Description
Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years in a data center critical facilities/critical infrastructure role.

• 2+ years of data center power distribution experience (UPS, PDU, RDU/power strips, busway, breakers).

• 2+ years applying electrical safety practices (LOTO, arc-flash, PPE).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience reading and interpreting electrical one-line diagrams and power topology.

• Experience with DCIM/BMS systems and power monitoring (branch-circuit/bus monitoring).

• Experience with mechanical/cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water).

Role Overview:

As an Associate Critical Infrastructure Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting all power distribution and RDU (power strip) related issues. You will also be responsible for the installation, routing, termination, and testing of rack power distribution—RDUs/power strips, power whips, and busway tap-offs—within the data center, as well as the accurate documentation of power topology in the client's DCIM (InOps) system. You will be responsible for Change Management events (CMs) and all requests associated with them monthly. You will be mentored by level 2 critical infrastructure technicians and assist them with various critical facilities and preventive maintenance tasks as necessary. You must have basic data center power experience and entry-level electrical safety (LOTO/PPE) skills. The quality of the work performed will have a direct impact on the stability and performance of the company's enterprise computer systems. Being a global company, downtime is measured in minutes, so responsiveness and effectiveness during power and cooling events are critical. You will be working directly with the local site supervisor, who will give you direction and assign your workload.

This position will work directly with the client's contracted data center technicians and senior critical infrastructure technicians who are responsible for all critical power and cooling activities to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met. This position will also work with client full-time engineers as points of escalation.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Installation, routing, termination, and testing of rack power distribution (RDUs/power strips, power whips, and busway tap-offs) between PDUs, busways, panelboards, and server racks.

• Dressing, labeling, and management of power whips and RDUs in accordance with Client and industry (NEC/NFPA 70E) standards to maintain clean, serviceable, and well-documented power runs.

• Troubleshooting and resolution of power physical-layer issues, including testing circuits and replacing faulty RDUs, power whips, or connectors.

• Manage Change Management (CMs), procedures, and maintenance events for all sites.

• Support and resolution of UPS, PDU, STS/ATS, and backup generator issues, and response to power alarms and events.

• Support of mechanical and cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH units, in-row coolers, chilled water) and environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, leak detection).

• Troubleshooting and resolution of console connectivity issues.

• Troubleshooting and resolution of all power distribution and RDU (power strip) related issues, including failed breakers and bus monitors.

• Accurate documentation of power topology (PDU ? breaker ? busway ? RDU ? rack) in the client's DCIM/InOps system, including power string audits and correction of discrepancies.

• Respond to all system problems on a 24X7 basis and take part in on-call rotation.

Secondary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Assisting data center technicians with power-related troubleshooting and incident response.

• Escorting and overseeing vendors/contractors performing electrical and mechanical work; enforcing safety and change-control (MOP/SOP) procedures.

• Ensure the client's data center house rules and electrical safety practices (LOTO, arc-flash, PPE) are being followed, and immediately report any concerns to leadership.

• Ensure the client's data center cleanliness; any issues with cleanliness must be reported to leadership.

Suggested Skills:

• Critical power and cooling systems

• Communication

• Problem-solving

• Attention to detail
  • **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**

  • **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client’s business needs and requirements.**
