Job Description
REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Associate of Science (A.S.) degree or higher in agriculture, biology, plant science, laboratory science, or a related field.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 year of related experience or training.

• Experience in agricultural research, laboratory operations, plant science, greenhouse operations, inventory, or a related technical environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent accuracy.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work effectively with individuals across departments and in a global, multicultural organization.



PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds with assistance/team lifting.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to work in both hot and cold environments, including varying ambient temperatures.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ability to operate pallet jacks and walk-behind forklifts for internal inventory transportation.



SUMMARY

Seeking a detail-oriented Research Materials & Inventory Technician to support agricultural research activities in a dynamic, global environment.



This hands-on role supports domestic and international researchers by ensuring research materials are accurately received, stored, processed, tracked, and made available when needed. The position combines laboratory operations, inventory management, material handling, equipment operation, cold storage, greenhouse support, and data entry.



The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working with both people and equipment, and able to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities.



RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage inventory of materials used to support agricultural research projects.

• Process research material requests accurately and efficiently.

• Receive, organize, store, and distribute materials according to established procedures.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform data entry with a high level of attention to detail.

• Follow ISO quality standards, SOPs, and established procedures for material handling and processing.

• Support day-to-day shipping and receiving activities.

• Process materials in the laboratory while following established protocols.

• Manage material cooler storage and maintain cold-storage areas.

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in daily operations.

• Perform basic equipment maintenance and identify issues requiring additional support.

• Maintain organized workspaces, supplies, and operational areas.

• Support greenhouse and plant-care activities as needed.

• Collaborate with researchers and other departments to ensure project materials are available when required.

• Work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research team.
