Required Education
• A High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education
• Associate's Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• 2–3 years of demonstrated laboratory experience
• Experience conducting standard laboratory testing to support new product introductions and customer sample testing
• Basic experience in a laboratory or workshop setting
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Comfortable working with Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data
• Understanding of laboratory safety
• Ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day

• Experience supporting laboratory test method standardization, harmonization, and administration

Laboratory Technician Overview
• Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Laboratory Technician performs laboratory testing and experimental activities with a high level of initiative and independence
• The role supports mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties testing of thermal interface materials and coatings, as well as standard laboratory testing for new product introductions and customer sample testing
• The Technician operates and maintains laboratory equipment, supports standardization and harmonization of laboratory test methods, and assists with equipment calibration and safety checks
• The role requires accurate data collection, evaluation, recording, and organization using established procedures
• The Technician uses Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint, to compile data, create charts and tables, summarize results, and communicate project details
• The position requires adherence to laboratory safety practices and protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment
Job Duties
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties testing of thermal interface materials and coatings
• Evaluate, collect, and record data
• Organize and perform experiments using established procedures
• Summarize and report experimental results in a laboratory notebook and PowerPoint
• Use a computer to enter data and information, including charts and tables, for communication of project results and details
• Run and maintain laboratory equipment
• Lead and support ongoing standardization, harmonization, and administration of laboratory test methods
• Ensure laboratory and application equipment is calibrated and safety checked in compliance with local regulations
• Conduct standard laboratory testing to support new product introductions and customer sample testing
• Compile data into Excel spreadsheets for sharing with Application Engineers and other internal colleagues
