Job Description
***Only qualified Lab Technician candidates located near the San Diego California area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Required Education
* Bachelor’s degree in Science (Microbiology or Biology related)
Required Experience
* 5+ years of experience in a Sterility Assurance Microbiology Laboratory setting
* Experience with Sterility Assurance testing including Bioburden Testing and Sterility Dose Audit Testing
* Experience performing microbiology testing in accordance with established work instructions procedures protocols and standards
* Experience with Bacterial Endotoxins testing and sterile technique
Technical Skills
* Sterility Assurance Testing including Bioburden and Sterility Dose Audits
* Sterility testing including SDAs and BI where applicable
* Non sterile bioburden testing
* Particulate testing
* LAL testing and associated validations and revalidations
* Environmental monitoring of laboratory controlled areas and lab spaces
* Media preparation quality checks and sterilization of testing equipment
* Metrics gathering and trending of test data
* Quality Management System document and procedure review
* ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820 standards

Responsibilities
* Prepare for and perform scheduled microbiology tests
* Perform sterility testing including SDAs and BI where applicable
* Perform non sterile bioburden testing and particulate testing while maintaining a sterile field
* Perform LAL testing and associated validations and revalidations
* Support training and testing activities while ensuring required turnaround times are met
* Perform environmental monitoring of the laboratory controlled areas and lab spaces as applicable
* Prepare media for testing and perform quality checks
* Sterilize testing equipment
* Gather and trend test data and metrics
* Review QMS documents and procedures prior to release or update as required
* Proactively identify compliance issues and verify alignment with internal and external standards and policies
* Notify and work closely with functional management when OOS occurs
* Assist with the design and implementation of new laboratory equipment as needed
* Support training initiatives and training of new associates
* Maintain a positive and cooperative team dynamic
* Perform other duties as assigned
