Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• 1–3 years of demonstrated laboratory experience
• Comfortable with equipment operation and laboratory testing
• Experience with hands-on lab work and strong 5S practices
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols and preserve accurate data
• Commitment to safe laboratory practices and protocols
• Ability to stand for extended periods while performing laboratory tasks
• Basic data summarization skills and computer literacy
• Ability to evaluate, collect, and record data accurately
Lab Technician Overview:
• This role supports laboratory operations by conducting testing, generating data, preparing chemical formulations, and assisting application engineers with routine and specialized experiments.
• Under the direction of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the position requires consistent attention to detail, accurate documentation, and adherence to established laboratory procedures.
• The role involves performing coating tests, preparing cleaners, pretreatments, and paints, and evaluating coated substrates using standard methods.
• The technician will also organize and perform experiments, maintain a laboratory notebook, and use computer software to input data, create charts and tables, and support communication of project results.
• Candidates must be comfortable working hands-on with laboratory equipment, standing for most of the workday, and maintaining a safe and well-organized environment.
Job Duties:
• Perform routine data generation using standard test methods
• Support application engineers with data generation activities
• Conduct testing of coatings using established procedures
• Evaluate, collect, and record test data
• Organize and perform experiments based on established protocols
• Summarize and document results in a laboratory notebook
• Enter data and create tables and charts to communicate project results
• Prepare cleaners, pretreatments, paints, and coatings from chemical ingredients
• Test performance characteristics of coated substrates
