Required Education
• High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education
• An Associate degree in chemistry or equivalent college credit, or 3 years minimum technical/lab experience.
Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience
• Minimum 3 years of technical or laboratory experience (if no degree)
• Experience in quality control (preferred but not required)
• Background in materials testing (viscosity, melting point, and general laboratory tests)
• Knowledge and hands-on use of laboratory instruments and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to locate and follow SOPs, test methods, and work instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Proficiency in MS Office
• SAP experience required or strong technical aptitude to learn SAP
• Ability to follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience
• Experience supporting validation and calibration of lab equipment
• Experience assisting with complaint investigations or quality engineering support tasks
• Familiarity with 5S or continuous improvement practices.
Quality Specialist Overview
• The Quality Specialist supports the Quality Department by performing standardized testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure product integrity and compliance.
• This role maintains accurate quality documentation, contributes to continuous improvement, and supports SAP-driven quality transactions.
• Ensures proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards throughout the production process.
• Requires strong attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and adherence to safety, environmental, and laboratory protocols.
Job Duties
• Perform standard QC testing on incoming raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods.
• Accurately calculate and report test results following established methods and SOPs
• Enter test data into SAP and maintain all required quality records
• Maintain retain samples and dispose of outdated samples according to protocols
• Keep lab benches, equipment, ovens, hoods, and retain rooms clean and organized; participate in 5S activities
• Participate in daily department meetings (MOS)
• Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in all written and electronic records
• Perform and assist with equipment validation, calibration, and reporting of equipment issues
• Assist Quality Engineers with complaint testing and sample investigations
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
• Support training efforts and maintain proficiency for all assigned test methods
• Contribute to departmental upkeep and participate in assigned quality projects.

• Role requires strong SAP proficiency and accurate data entry
• Must be comfortable performing repetitive testing and documentation under strict quality standards
• Requires laboratory experience with viscosity testing, melting point testing, and related QC procedures
• Participation in calibration, validation, and complaint investigation work is expected
• Must be able to follow safety and documentation protocols with precision.
