Job Description


Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing robust, scalable, and maintainable applications using Object-Oriented Design principles.

• Strong Core Java backend development experience; this is not a frontend-focused role.

• Senior-level experience with the ability to work independently, proactively take full ownership of work, and operate with some level of direct supervision.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Java Core and concurrent programming.

• Strong experience with Spring Framework, including Core, Integration, Batch, JDBC, and Hibernate.

• Hands-on experience with Web technologies including HTML, CSS, React JS, REST APIs, and backend development using Java/J2EE technologies.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, including tracking and verifying deployments and troubleshooting release or deployment issues.

• Experience with DevOps and release processes in addition to application development.

• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and containerization.

• Experience with cloud computing technologies, containers, microservices, and large datasets.

• Experience with databases and data technologies including Spark, RDBMS (preferably Oracle), and NoSQL (preferably MongoDB).

• Familiarity with Linux environments, including scripting skills.

• Experience with Agile software development processes, with a strong emphasis on test-driven development.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube/SONAR, JIRA, BlackDuck, Git/BitBucket, and secure coding toolkits.

• Demonstrated ability to build sophisticated tooling for development and production team use.



Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• Python experience is a plus.



Overview

This is a senior development position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The role focuses on building robust, high-performance, large-scale applications that are scalable and maintainable. The successful candidate will bring strong Core Java backend development expertise along with hands-on experience in concurrent programming, Spring Framework technologies, REST APIs, cloud computing, microservices, containers, and large datasets. The position also requires practical involvement in CI/CD pipelines, deployment verification, release troubleshooting, DevOps processes, and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes. Experience working within Agile software development processes, with a strong emphasis on test-driven development, is required. The role requires a senior-level professional who can work independently, proactively take ownership of responsibilities, collaborate with the Technology Team, and contribute to development and production tooling.



Job Duties

• Establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team.

• Build robust, high-performance, large-scale applications.

• Track and verify deployments and troubleshoot release or deployment issues.

• Support development and production teams through sophisticated tooling.

• Work with DevOps and release processes, CI/CD pipelines, containers, microservices, and cloud computing technologies.
