Job Description
Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities:

• 7+ years of software development experience, specifically with Core Java and Java 8 concepts, including OOP, OOD, Collections, Exception Handling, JDBC, Multithreading, Streams, Lambda Expressions, and Functional Interfaces.

• 5+ years of experience with SQL/NoSQL database management systems, including Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Couchbase, and Neo4j.

• Experience working with financial market and credit risk enterprise software systems, including scenario analysis and stress testing.

• Experience developing and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and distributed computing systems using Core Java.

• Experience with big data platforms and technologies including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Spark.

• Experience implementing Spark performance-tuning best practices, including partitioning, caching, and memory management.

• Experience with GitHub, Tekton, Harness, and other CI/CD pipeline technologies.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced TechFin environment.



Desired Skills, Experience, & Abilities:

• 3+ years of experience leading or owning software development projects from beginning to end with multiple team members.

• Experience with agentic AI tools such as Devin, Claude, or Copilot.



Overview:

Seeking a Core Java Engineer with expertise in big data processing, particularly within the TechFin industry. The candidate should have experience working with financial enterprise technologies and large-scale distributed computing systems. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for large-scale financial data processing, including credit risk calculations and regulatory reporting. The engineer will work with big data platform technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Spark and apply performance-tuning best practices to support efficient processing, storage, and retrieval of risk data. The role also involves leading batch pipeline development for credit risk analytics, including stress loss calculations such as GSST and CCAR and expected credit loss calculations such as CECL, IFRS9, and ICAAP. Strong software engineering practices, including efficient testing, CI/CD, and version control, are essential.



Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing and analyzing large-scale financial data using Core Java.

• Lead projects for developing batch pipeline processes for credit risk analytics, including stress loss (GSST, CCAR) and expected credit loss (CECL, IFRS9, ICAAP).

• Ensure efficient storage and retrieval of risk data within big data platform systems, including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Spark.

• Implement Spark performance-tuning best practices, including partitioning, caching, and memory management.

• Maintain code quality through high-efficiency testing, CI/CD pipelines using technologies such as Tekton and Harness, and version control with GitHub.
