Required Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent



Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led training and on-the-job tasks for technical skills

• Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies

• Proven experience performing task analysis

• Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams

• Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed

• Excellent analysis skills

• Strategic thinking and time management

• Ability to managing multiple priorities and deadlines

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment



Preferred Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Experience developing multi-year technical training programs for adult learners

• Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Storyline

• Client Academy experience a plus



Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the utilities industry

• Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training

• Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media

• Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed

• Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content

• Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment

• Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates

• Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience

• Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer

• Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation

• Receive and incorporate feedback

• Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables

• Proactively communicate issues and risks
