Minimum Requirements:
• 3 years (Required) – Professional IT experience with hands-on exposure to cloud infrastructure, system administration, or vulnerability remediation
• 3 years (Required) – Experience supporting cloud-hosted systems in at least one enterprise cloud environment (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
• 3 years (Required) – Understanding of vulnerability remediation concepts, including patching, configuration hardening, and compensating controls
• 3 years (Required) – Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) and change management processes
• 3 years (Required) – Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• 3 years (Required) – Ability to follow established security procedures and remediation workflows
• 3 years (Required) – Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
• 1 year (Preferred) – Experience with enterprise vulnerability management programs, remediation SLAs, and tracking tools
• 1 year (Preferred) – Knowledge of cloud security posture management (CSPM), security baselines, or risk reporting frameworks

Job Summary:
• The Network Security Analyst I (Cloud Vulnerability Remediation) is responsible for protecting enterprise cloud environments by identifying, assessing, and remediating security vulnerabilities
• This role supports the TxDOT cloud environment by executing vulnerability management and compliance activities to reduce organizational risk and ensure operational stability
• The position focuses on patching, configuration hardening, and implementing compensating controls across cloud infrastructure and platform services
• Works cross-functionally with Cloud Operations, Security, Application, and Risk teams to ensure timely and effective remediation aligned with enterprise security policies and compliance requirements

Job Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze vulnerability findings from approved security scanning tools affecting cloud-hosted resources
• Assess vulnerability applicability, exploitability, and risk impact across cloud infrastructure and platforms
• Plan, coordinate, and execute remediation actions, including:
O System patching
O Configuration changes
O Security hardening
• Perform cloud-based patching and updates using approved processes
• Implement alternative mitigation strategies when vendor patches are unavailable
• Validate remediation efforts and confirm closure of vulnerabilities
• Maintain accurate remediation records, tickets, and change documentation for audit compliance
• Ensure all activities comply with established change management and approval processes
• Provide remediation status updates, reporting metrics, and audit evidence
O Support temporary mitigations or compensating controls when permanent solutions are delayed
O Collaborate with Security, Cloud Architecture, and Application teams on complex vulnerabilities
O Identify recurring issues, blockers, and recommend process improvements
O Contribute to reducing technical debt and strengthening overall cloud security posture
