Job Description
Required Education:
• Associate’s degree

Preferred Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field

Preferred Certification:
• OSHA training credentials/certifications preferred.

Required Experience / Skills
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant EHS experience
• Prior experience identifying workplace risks, preventing injuries and illnesses, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Experience supporting or implementing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and policies
• Experience conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions
• Strong communication and training skills, including experience delivering safety and hazardous-materials training
• Ability to influence and lead safety initiatives without direct authority
• Experience working collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazardous materials handling, emergency response, and industrial health compliance
• Ability to monitor safety equipment, inspections, hazardous waste activities, and environmental compliance
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and risk-management skills
• Must have the ability to work overtime

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Experience with global EHS programs
• Experience in laboratory safety, operations safety, construction safety, or risk management
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and safety metrics
• Experience performing root cause analysis and developing corrective/preventive actions
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and hazardous waste vendors
• Experience supporting workers’ compensation, workplace ergonomics, and industrial health programs

Job Duties
• Assist with implementing, monitoring, and maintaining company EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and risk assessments, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions
• Monitor safety equipment inventory and ensure required safety resources are available
• Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors and assist with the consolidation and management of chemical, radioactive, and/or medical waste
• Conduct EHS training, including emergency response and hazardous-material handling, for employees across various departments
• Monitor environmental and industrial health compliance and maintain communication with appropriate regulatory agencies
• Support workplace ergonomics, workers’ compensation, and injury/illness prevention programs
• Investigate safety and environmental issues, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions
• Use data and reporting to identify trends, assess risks, and support EHS decision-making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture and drive compliance improvements
• Serve as an EHS resource by communicating safety expectations and influencing employees and stakeholders to follow safe work practices
