Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Experience completing Form I-9 Section 2 verification and employment eligibility reviews

• Strong knowledge of I-9 regulations and employment authorization documentation requirements

• Experience working in Workday or similar Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

• Experience managing high-volume transactions in a deadline-driven environment

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion

• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment



Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Experience supporting HR Operations or Employee Lifecycle programs

• Experience conducting virtual I-9 document inspections and verification

• Familiarity with E-Verify processes

HR Specialist – I-9 Compliance Overview:

The HR Specialist supports the People Operations Employee Lifecycle team by conducting virtual I-9 document reviews and completing Section 2 employment eligibility verification activities within Workday. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with federal employment eligibility requirements while providing a positive and professional onboarding experience for new employees. The ideal candidate possesses strong HR compliance knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with HR systems and high-volume employee transactions.



Job Duties:

• Conduct virtual I-9 document inspections in accordance with DHS guidelines and company procedures

• Complete Form I-9 Section 2 verification accurately and timely within Workday

• Review employment authorization documentation for authenticity, completeness, and compliance requirements

• Ensure compliance with federal I-9 regulations, company policies, and audit standards

• Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and new hires to resolve documentation issues and discrepancies

• Track and manage I-9 cases to ensure completion within required regulatory timelines

• Escalate complex compliance-related questions and issues as appropriate

• Maintain accurate employee records and supporting documentation

• Safeguard confidential employee information and adhere to data privacy standards

• Support audit readiness and compliance initiatives related to employment eligibility verification

• Provide a positive employee experience throughout the onboarding process

Critical Position Notes:

• Prior I-9 Section 2 experience is required

• Workday experience is strongly preferred

• Experience with virtual document verification and remote onboarding processes is highly desirable
