Job Description
Required Education:

• A bachelor's degree is required. Preferred majors include Finance, Business, Economics, or Mathematics.



Required Experience:

• 4-5 years of related work experience, including forecasting and budgeting experience, ideally in media/entertainment



Required Qualifications:

• Interested in understanding the ins and outs of Broadcast News production

• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to navigate a high pressure environment, work effectively across teams, and flag when something isn't working

• Comfortable with a high-volume, fast-moving production environment; detail-oriented enough to own recurring formula/data integrity work

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy



Preferred Qualifications:

• Ideally in media/entertainment



Required Technical Skills:

• Strong Excel/financial modeling skills as this is a reporting-heavy role

• Highly analytical; able to synthesize data and provide insightful narrative of business results, using AI tools to accelerate analysis and reporting



Preferred Technical Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Fusion, SmartView, EDMCS, or similar enterprise finance systems is a strong plus

• Power BI experience is a plus



Job Overview

• Looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Senior Financial Analyst to join the finance team.

• The focus of this role will be to assist in the day to day financial reporting and business management.

• The Financial Analyst will perform a variety of financial activities including assisting day to day financial requests from Executive Producers, financial planning and budgeting processes, forecasting, building financial models, preparing reports and presentations, and performing research and analysis using large data sets.

• The ideal candidate is well organized, solution-oriented, and able to take initiative.



Main Responsibilities:

• Owns and maintains recurring reporting cycles across Mornings, Evening News, Sunday Morning, Weekend News, Overnight News, and Morning News

• Drives financial discipline for the organization, partnering with Financial and Business colleagues, and Finance Leads, to evaluate and manage budgets

• Leads preparation, review, and consolidation of the annual operating budgets and Long Range Plan (annual budget and monthly forecasts)

• Owns accuracy of reported actual costs and develops variance analysis reports, and monthly financial reporting/budget-vs-actual commentary for leadership review

• Tracks cost and budget performance at the individual story/segment level, flagging overruns and feeding that data into show-level and portfolio-level reporting

• Owns segment-level budgeting for Sunday Morning

• Identifies and reclassifies miscoded expenses

• Leads ad hoc analysis and support as needed
