Description:

Position Summary:
The Engineering shop hosts a team of expert technicians that perform various hands-on activities on Acura and Honda products that support the daily operations of the overall Engineering department. Working alongside with the Product Engineers, their activities provide valuable insight into product concerns experienced by customers, which in turn allows feedback to the appropriate teams for resolution supporting the goal of Customer Satisfaction and Lifetime Owner Loyalty.

The role of the Automotive Technician include:
• Installation of market incident parts/components on test vehicles to support Engineering product investigations/evaluations
• Participate in the testing of installed parts/components by providing thorough and comprehensive technical feedback on their test methods/results

• Provide input that allows the Engineering department to develop corrective actions quickly and effectively for products in market and in production

• Conduct component installations to validate repair procedures and provide feedback for procedural improvements and proposals on flat-rate times.
• Provide on-the-spot inspection and repairs in support of off-site Press/Dealer events and at various logistic facilities to ensure representation of product quality

• Perform repairs and routine maintenance of test vehicles in the Engineering Department fleet

•Support vehicle holds/repairs at the railheads.

The role of the Automotive Technician is to perform the assigned duties effectively and report to the Assistant Manager of the Engineering Shop

High School Diploma
2 years Automotive Trade School or AA in Automotive Technology or equivalent work experience preferred
ASE certifications A1 – A8 and L1 preferred


Six (6) years automobile experience as a full line Technician (Honda and Acura experience preferred)
Driving record background check and approval to operate company vehicles (ability to operate Engineering Test vehicles is required for this position)
