Job Description


Education:
• Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Electronics, or
• Two-year technical diploma, or
• Equivalent military certification, or
• Equivalent relevant experience

Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry
• 3+ years of related experience preferred
• Experience troubleshooting PCB subassembly failure modes and identifying root causes
• Understanding of electronic components and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation (schematics, diagrams)
• Ability to comprehend product and process datasheets
• Ability to assemble and disassemble electronic products
• Ability to maintain and repair laboratory equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to learn advanced computer applications
• Strong data research, organization, and summarization skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of PCs, spreadsheets, and word processing software

Preferred Skills:
• 3+ years hands-on experience troubleshooting PCB subassembly failures
• 3+ years hands-on soldering experience with fine-pitch surface-mount components
• 3+ years hands-on experience using electronic test equipment
• Experience operating and maintaining 3D printers
• Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) layout
• Experience machining and modifying materials such as aluminum, steel, plastics, and fiberglass
• Experience with advanced test equipment (logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
• Experience working with John Deere electronic components and systems
• Experience working with John Deere equipment and machinery

Job Duties:
• Approximately 60–70% of work performed on a PC, including use of TAKAYA APT-1600FD software to create flying probe test programs.
• Perform inspection, testing, and failure analysis to determine root causes of defective electronic assemblies.
• Research, gather, analyze, and summarize data to support engineering decisions.
• Rework products in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Build test harnesses, loads, fixtures, circuit boards, and test boxes to support product design and development.
• Conduct manual testing of electronic circuits and PCBs following engineering instructions.
• Create, update, and maintain test documentation for prototype products.
• Document and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Communicate process or design issues to supervisors and engineering teams and assist with corrective actions.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers.
• Maintain and repair lab equipment as needed.
• Train other personnel as required.


Job Summary:
Support Design Engineering teams with prototype bring-up, PCB assembly troubleshooting, testing, and debugging activities. This role plays a key part in identifying root causes of failures and supporting product development through hands-on testing and analysis.
