Job Description
Required Education:



• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, CAD, or other computer-related degree from an accredited college or university.



Preferred Education:



• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related or engineering field.



Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:



• Technical competence with drafting software (CAD).

• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.

• Knowledge of basic electrical theory.

• Experience working with electrical prints and diagrams.



Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:



• Two or more years working with databases or CAD.

• Three or more years of electrical (e.g., electrician, wiremen) related experience.

• Prior experience creating operator displays.

• Electric utility industry experience.



Engineering Support Specialist Overview: The Engineering Support Specialist supports various tasks within EMS (Energy Management System) engineering. This role is designed to assist design engineers with technical tasks that require specialized knowledge but do not require a full engineering degree. The position focuses on display building and model maintenance to support substation operations.



Job Duties:



• Update the EMS model using graphical and textual editors.

• Support the EMS Display builder team by performing CAD and drafting work.

• Build new displays when new substations are opened.

• Collaborate with field personnel to verify the accuracy of breakers and data.

• Assist with data management and provide general engineering support as directed by supervision.

• Ensure all displays and models accurately reflect technical specifications and field conditions.
