SUMMARY



The Engineering Support Specialist is responsible for supporting a variety of tasks within EMS engineering. The position is intended to relieve the design engineers from some job tasks that do not require an engineering degree, but require technical knowledge and/or experience.



Key responsibilities include: Update EMS model using graphical and textual editors, assisting with data management, and other engineering support as directed by supervision.



EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Associate’s degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, CAD, or other computer-related degree from an accredited college or university.



REQUIRED SKILLS

• Two or more years technical competence with drafting software (CAD).



PREFFERED

• Three or more years of electrical (e.g., electrician, wiremen) related experience preferred.

• Knowledge of basic electrical theory and relevant experience working with electrical prints and diagrams is preferred.

• Electric utility experience is preferred.



RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting EMS Display builder team.

• CAD/drafting work.

• Building new displays when a new substation is opened.

• Check out with people in the field to determine accuracy of breakers and data.

• Will be collaborating with engineers on the team.
