Job Description
Note: Onsite; Menlo Park, CA only, will be involved in lab work so onsite is critical. First 5-6 weeks will be onsite 3 days minimum and then based on performance and training, optional to go remote with only requirement to come onsite maybe 1x a week for lab work.
Degrees/certifications required:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required
Must-Have Skills:
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network fundamentals.
• Familiarity with common networking technologies and devices (e.g., Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, DNS, and DHCP).
• 3+ years of Network Engineering, Linux/Unix, and Python experience
Nice-to-have Skills:
• Experience with Optics & Transceivers
• Data center engineering knowledge
Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic ability to work independently
• Strong time management skills
• Team player
Years of overall experience required? QA Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Networking & Automation
Overview:
The candidate should be able to understand and perform optical link-validation and have a network engineering device background. The role provides playbooks, runbooks, wikis, and documentation for support, and the individual will work alongside an engineer.
Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
• Run link-validations across multiple optical modules
• Perform manual testing of FW upgrade of optics
• Co-ordinate on lab intakes for perform the optics validation
