Job Description
Education Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
Job Requirements:
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Experience designing complex printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
• Strong schematic design and electronic component selection skills.
• Experience reviewing PCB layouts, board bring-up, testing, and debugging.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer.
• Experience with rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB designs.
• Ability to translate system and product requirements into electrical designs.
• Experience integrating electrical hardware with embedded software and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience supporting verification testing and system validation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and multidisciplinary system issues.
• Strong technical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred experience in robotics, electromechanical systems, or medical device development.
• Preferred knowledge of IEC 60601, Design Controls, Risk Management, and Design History Files (DHF).
• Experience supporting products from concept through commercialization.
Job Summary:
• Lead the electrical design and development of a major subsystem for a next-generation surgical robotic platform.
• Design and develop complex printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), including schematics, component selection, and layout reviews.
• Create rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB designs using Altium.
• Perform board bring-up, testing, characterization, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Translate product and system requirements into electrical designs and interface specifications.
• Integrate electrical hardware with embedded software, mechanical components, and overall robotic systems.
• Lead technical decisions balancing performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and risk.
• Develop verification and EMC/EMI test strategies and support testing activities.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and multidisciplinary system issues.
• Collaborate with Software, Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
• Prepare engineering documentation, design records, and risk management documentation.
• Support design transfer activities and product commercialization.
• Ensure designs meet quality, regulatory, and medical device requirements.
• Drive projects from concept development through verification, validation, manufacturing, and commercial release.
