Job Description
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, or a related field.
Preferred Education, Skills & Experience
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
The client is seeking a motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented professional to join our Tarrytown, New York team as an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their career while contributing to the ongoing safety, health, and environmental compliance of our operations. The EHS Coordinator will support a range of key programs and initiatives aimed at promoting a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace.
Responsibilities:
EHS Management & Compliance
• Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs and processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the site’s safety and health culture.
• Conduct safety walkthroughs and review new equipment or processes to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
Emergency Response
• Coordinate the site’s Emergency Response Program with key stakeholders (Occupational Health, Security, Facilities).
• Serve as a member of the on-site Emergency Response Team to ensure preparedness and compliance.
• Help plan and execute site drills, including post-drill evaluations and reports.
Hazardous & Biological Waste Management
• Oversee chemical and biological waste programs, including coordination with waste vendors and tracking key waste metrics.
• Review results from weekly waste area inspections and ensure compliance with disposal procedures.
Incident Management
• Manage the Near Miss / Good Observation Program.
• Assist in incident response, investigation, and follow-up action tracking.
Training
• Help prepare monthly EHS training materials.
• Maintain and update the training matrix and schedule.
• Run reports in the training system to verify role-based assignments.
Recordkeeping & Reporting
• Maintain monthly EHS scorecards and reports.
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping of SDSs, chemical inventories, inspections, and training logs.
• Sustainability & Environmental Support
• Assist with sustainability initiatives, regulatory reporting, and environmental permitting.
Administrative Support
• Manage procurement, vendor coordination, and department supply inventories.
• Maintain EHS documentation and support compliance assessments.
• Coordinate meeting room setups, cafeteria events, and chair repair logistics.
Other EHS Duties
• Provide EHS guidance to employees on safe work practices.
• Participate in global, regional, and site-specific EHS projects and meetings.
