Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
• Monitors and supports the safe and legally compliant transport and handling of finished goods in the North American distribution network.
• Core activities include emergency response activation and management, policy administration and training, compliance audits, waste management and reporting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and complete assessments for contract and 3rd party providers of warehousing and transportation services. Provide non-conformance determinations based on assessment criteria and assist with the development of corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency response efforts for distribution incidents involving company materials and products. Facilitate responses through first responders and/or third -party emergency response units.
• Manage and mitigate potential impacts to the company because of distribution safety incidents. Responsible for waste disposal, remediation activities, and liability assessment.
• Coordinate waste management and remediation efforts throughout the distribution channel, especially as it relates to pesticides and other hazardous materials.
• Monitor, interpret, and communicate all regulatory notices of new and/or proposed rulemaking and their effects on all businesses in North America.
• Administrates and supports the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, and training programs required to ensure the safe and legal distribution of all materials; both domestically and internationally, including all modes of transport.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
• BA/BS 5+ years or MBA/MS 0-6+ years or PhD 0-2 years or 15+ years applicable business experience.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Extensive knowledge of domestic and international distribution regulatory requirements
• Ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Detailed knowledge of DOT, IATA, EPA, and IMDG regulations

Preferences:
• Key competencies: customer focus, strategic mindset, crisis and incident management, collaboration, stakeholder management, agility, decision making, strong communications, program management, and analytics.
• Experience handling emergency response calls.
• Experience auditing shipping documents to ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG regulations.
