Required Experience:
• 5+ years of experience specifically as a Solution Architect (or equivalent senior technical CRM role), with deep, hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
• SFMC certification (Marketing Cloud Developer or Marketing Cloud Consultant) strongly preferred
Required Qualifications:
• Proven ability to project manage and prioritize competing requests from multiple teams simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and audience segmentation logic at scale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the streaming D2C industry, or subscription-based industry experience
• Comfortable operating in a live-content or sports-driven, high-velocity environment.
Required Technical Skills:
• Expert-level proficiency across core SFMC modules: Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Contact Builder, and Data Extensions.
• Strong hands-on scripting ability in AMP Script and SQL; working knowledge of SSJS is a plus.
• Experience working with the SFMC API and integrating Marketing Cloud with external systems (CDPs, mobile push, data warehouses, etc.).
Preferred Technical Skills:
• Experience with Braze or other ESPs in addition to SFMC.
• Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms (e.g., Hightouch, mParticle, Tealium).
• Knowledgeable of email compliance and privacy legislation, both domestic and international (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, CCPA).
Job Overview:
• This will be a technically focused solutions architect; it will include some functional work, as they take business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. They should be able to operate as a project manager and communicate with stakeholders.
• Understanding the steaming/subscription customer lifecycle is very helpful, as they would know the KPIs and standard practices, but an ecommerce background could be sufficient.
Responsibilities:
• They will be operating independently and should be able to manage the technical and business with little oversite, should also be comfortable with a fast-pace, agile environment, as we are in a time of transformation.
• This role requires a high level of communication with staff at all levels in all global regions.
• Own the day-to-day operational health of all SFMC campaigns, automations, and journeys — proactively monitoring sends, data flows, and triggers to ensure everything is running as expected, and troubleshooting/resolving issues before they impact the business.
• Architect, build, and deploy new automations, triggered journeys, and personalized customer experiences in Journey Builder and Automation Studio, using AMPScript, SQL, and (where needed) SSJS.
• Act as the primary technical project manager across multiple simultaneous requests from CRM, Retention, Product, Data, and Creative teams — triaging priority, scoping technical feasibility, and managing timelines in a fast-paced, always-on streaming environment.
• Design, build, and maintain a scalable data model within SFMC (Contact Builder, Data Extensions, Audience Builder), partnering closely with Data Engineering on data integrity and flow.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for integration issues between SFMC and adjacent platforms (Marketing Cloud Connect, APIs, mobile push providers, CDPs).
• Partner with Engineering and Data teams to scope and implement new SFMC-adjacent integrations that support business and personalization goals.
• Establish and document technical standards, build patterns, and QA protocols for SFMC development to ensure consistency, scalability, and auditability across the platform.
• Evaluate new SFMC features, tools, and capabilities and make recommendations on adoption to improve efficiency and campaign performance.
• Provide informal technical guidance and troubleshooting support to CRM marketers and analysts, helping the broader team understand what's technically possible within the platform (no direct reports, but close day-to-day collaboration with marketers, engineers, and analysts).
• Partner with the Senior Director on technical roadmap planning and scoping for new CRM and lifecycle initiatives.
