Job Description

Candidate must be a Wisconsin resident or willing to relocate to Wisconsin prior to starting the role at their own expense. Position is Hybrid within the state of WI. The first week will be fully onsite for training the first week and at minimum the candidate will be onsite once per quarter for training.

Required Skills & Years of Experience:
• Experienced at tracking multiple tasks simultaneously (2+ Years)
• Experienced at tracking effort through a ticket system (2+ Years)
• Experienced at vulnerability research (2+ Years)
• Experience generating and interpreting reports (3+ Years)

Preferred Experience & Skills::
• Experience with use of desktop tools such as Ivanti or SCCM.
• Experience navigating vulnerability notifications such as CISA and performing crosswalk comparisons.

Responsibilities:
• This position falls under IT Support but does NOT actually do any desktop remediation, updates, or support. It is focused on the identification and remediation of software vulnerabilities at the administration level. Client does not need the person to have any desktop support experience as this is more clerical with a technical understanding than it is break/fix.
• Assist with Vulnerability Management. This position will provide timely IT support to client staff so they can more efficiently support critical client initiatives.
• Assist with operational software updates/upgrades of desktop systems. DHS tracks and maintains authorized software at supported levels.
• Assist with the alignment of installed software with current software standards and authorizations.

Additional details:
• This position is instrumental in getting a more cohesive patch and testing program in place for Client software. Client has an extremely complex environment for application management. This position is responsible for assessing and improving the related processes, especially where manual patches are required
• The position works with other members of the desktop application maintenance team to assess, develop, and improve multiple processes, documenting accordingly. This position takes on tasks to enhance and streamline wherever it can. Where it can't make changes, it must take initiative to document the status quo, noting gaps that will need to be addressed at some point
• This position works with the Patching Technician to coordinate testing of any emerging patches and documenting identified vulnerabilities and known exploits. This position works with the Client Patching Technician enhancing the process used to confirm that new patches have been appropriately installed and tested, prior to release to the wider Client audience
• This position tracks non-Ivanti software titles that are most prone to vulnerabilities and ensures that their websites are checked on a regular basis for alerts and updates. This allows Client to be responsive to threats as they arise.
• This position develops and collaborates with others regarding many process guidelines and procedural documents for maintaining and improving the DHS patching posture. This position applies the vulnerability management approach.
• This position intakes Federal software security notices and compares them to DHS software titles to ensure that we are able to patch and / or mitigate identified vulnerabilities
• This position reaches out to peers, both on their own team and on other teams, to better understand how to integrate the role with the efforts of other teams, thereby enhancing the security posture of Client
• This position continually looks for ways to improve this extremely manual and tedious process so that more can be done. It continues to look for ways to improve that process and to track and manage more vulnerabilities

  • **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**

  • **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client’s business needs and requirements.**
