Job Description

Preferred Certification:
• 4 years preferred - AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or equivalent AWS professional certifications.

Minimum Requirements:
(Candidates must meet all minimum requirements to be considered)
• 8 years required - Experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of enterprise technology solutions.
• 8 years required - Hands-on experience using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate Oracle databases and workloads to AWS.
• 8 years required - Experience with data ingestion methodologies, including batch processing, full-load migrations, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time streaming architectures.
• 8 years required - Experience designing and implementing AWS infrastructure and networking components, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and network segmentation.
• 8 years required - Experience with core AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda.
• 8 years required - Experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• 8 years required - Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT solutions and cloud-based data integration methodologies.
• 8 years required - Experience developing automation and scripting solutions using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• 8 years required - Experience configuring and managing secure cloud networking, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and security controls.
• 8 years required - Experience with AWS monitoring and logging tools, including CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• 8 years required - Experience creating and executing data migration plans, cutover strategies, rollback procedures, and downtime mitigation plans.
• 8 years required - Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document technical designs, procedures, and migration runbooks.
• 8 years required - Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, on-premises integration, and legacy system modernization initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 1 year preferred - Experience supporting public sector, state government, or highly regulated organizational environments.
• 8+ years preferred - Experience leading large-scale enterprise cloud migration and modernization programs.
• 8+ years preferred - Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, project managers, architects, and executive leadership teams.
• 8+ years preferred - Experience implementing cloud governance, security best practices, and operational excellence frameworks on AWS.

Summary:
• Lead the assessment, planning, design, and execution of Oracle-to-AWS cloud data migration initiatives.
• Analyze business objectives, operational procedures, and technical requirements to develop scalable cloud migration solutions that improve system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and infrastructure engineers to modernize legacy on-premises systems and enable hybrid cloud architectures.
• Design, implement, and support AWS-based data migration solutions utilizing AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), cloud-native services, automation tools, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Develop migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and operational documentation to ensure successful data migration with minimal business disruption.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze business requirements, operational processes, and existing system environments to identify migration opportunities and cloud-based solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed migration initiatives.
• Gather and document user requirements, system specifications, data flows, and reporting needs.
• Create detailed functional and technical documentation, including migration runbooks, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and support procedures.
• Design and implement Oracle-to-AWS migration solutions using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Configure and manage full-load, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time streaming data migration architectures.
• Design and implement AWS infrastructure components, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, VPNs, and Direct Connect connectivity.
• Deploy and manage AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and related supporting services.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Design and support ETL/ELT workflows and cloud-based data integration processes.
• Create automation solutions using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell scripts to improve migration efficiency and operational support.
• Develop migration strategies, cutover schedules, rollback plans, and downtime minimization approaches.
• Monitor migration environments and system health using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and related monitoring solutions.
• Ensure cloud security, compliance, and connectivity requirements are met throughout migration activities.
• Support hybrid cloud and on-premises integration efforts during modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with business partners, project teams, vendors, and technical stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer throughout the migration lifecycle.
