Job Description
Education:
• High School diploma or state-recognized GED

Required Knowledge, Skills/Experience:
• 10-key by touch; minimum 8,000 keystrokes per hour with less than 3% error rate
• Strong initiative, confidence, willingness to learn and recover from mistakes
• Excellent time management, punctuality and reliability
• Strong research and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities:
• The position is two-fold.
• Candidates will complete tasks covering inbound mailroom workflows (to include mail pickup, sorting drop-off by mailing address, scanning documents and resolving associated exceptions and tasks) and inbound processing of documents (to include manual capture of utility invoice data in combination with validation of data captured via automation)
• Overall, this role requires routine work that follows an established system of operation with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

Pre-Training Requirement:
• Successful completion of UBK (Utility Bill Knowledge) training – 2-day foundation-level course provided to familiarize new hires with utility industry terminology, invoice formatting, and billing structures
• After completion, hire will move to department for OTJ training

Job Responsibilities:
Complete mailroom workflows to include:
• Mail pickup
• Sorting drop-off by mailing address
• Scanning documents
• Resolving associated exceptions and tasks

Complete inbound processing of documents to include:
• Visually validate data captured via automation to ensure accuracy
• Utilize UBK training to manually capture utility invoice data per established processes, capturing summary or detailed charge and usage line items
• Participate in the reevaluation of current processes and offer suggestions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of each process
• Complete assigned tasks per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and other duties as assigned
