Required Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education
• Vocational training in Medical Office Procedures and Billing
• Coursework or practical training in ICD-9 and CPT coding

Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical office, hospital, insurance, or large contact center environment OR two (2) years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using electronic patient accounting, scheduling, or customer information systems
• Basic Microsoft Windows and PC skills
• 10-key data entry skills
• Typing speed of at least 35 WPM
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations while maintaining HIPAA compliance

Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience
• Three (3) or more years of experience in a patient care or healthcare administrative setting
• Experience using Epic Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, or similar patient scheduling and billing systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance practices
• Experience with referrals, registration, billing, cashiering, and financial interviewing
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, Commercial Insurance, Coordination of Benefits, Subrogation, and Self-Pay billing
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Ability to educate and support team members on procedures and best practices
• Adaptable, dependable, and able to quickly learn new systems and processes
• Positive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset

Overview
• We are seeking a customer-focused Patient Access Representative to support patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, billing, and patient account management. Job Summary
• The Patient Access Representative manages patient access functions including registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referral coordination, prior authorizations, billing support, and cash collection while ensuring accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and efficient patient service.

Job Responsibilities
• Answer incoming telephone calls and assist patients with scheduling and registration
• Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility
• Perform patient check-in, check-out, admission, and discharge activities
• Build and maintain provider appointment templates
• Process internal and external referrals
• Obtain prior authorizations and establish insurance coverage
• Process patient, claim edit, and charge review work queues
• Perform service capture and accurate data entry
• Assist patients with billing questions and provide service fee estimates
• Coordinate with financial services, health information management, and insurance payers
• Collect co-pays, process refunds, and complete daily cash reconciliation and deposits
• Maintain accurate patient records in Epic Practice Management
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and deliver exceptional customer service
