Job Description
Must Have:

Equipment & Technical Requirements

• Recording space. An in-house studio, booth, or dedicated treated room you control and can book at will — quiet, low-reverb, with repeatable acoustics session to session.

• Microphone. A high-quality condenser or dynamic mic (e.g. Shure SM7B, Audio-Technica AT2020, Rode NT1) with a suitable interface, plus closed-back headphones for live sessions.

• Phone recording. Able to record clean audio on a mobile phone and transfer and organize the files on a computer, to our format and naming conventions.

• Simultaneous phone + computer capture. Able to record phone and computer audio at once as separate, isolated tracks. Familiarity with interfaces, inline call recorders, loopback or virtual audio routing, and multi-track DAW recording.

• Equipment purchases. Willing to buy your own gear where your setup falls short, and to upgrade as requirements evolve.

• Self-sufficiency. Able to troubleshoot and fix your own capture issues without hands-on support.

• Connectivity. Stable internet for real-time sessions.

Nice to Have:

Voice acting experience

• Professional or semi-professional VO, audiobook, animation, commercial, or dubbing work

• Real vocal range and control — able to shift register, age, energy, and accent on direction

• Takes direction fast and holds a consistent character across long sessions

Customer service experience

• Hands-on time in a customer-facing voice role: call center, phone support, reception, hospitality, or similar

• Firsthand experience with de-escalation and difficult conversations

• Knows the conventions of real support calls — holds, transfers, verification, escalation, closing

Strong candidates often come from

• Voice actors with call center or support backgrounds

• Call center agents, team leads, or QA specialists with performance or theater training

• Actors and improvisers who have worked in service roles

• Service trainers who run roleplay-based onboarding

• Podcast or audio producers with on-mic experience

Also important

• Reliably reproducible performance and audio quality take to take

• Clear written and verbal communication

• Comfortable in paired sessions and group calibration

• Adaptable to new tools, processes, and direction styles

About The Role:

We're hiring Customer Service Voice Performers to record role played customer service calls. You'll play the operator across a wide range of scenarios, from routine account questions to escalated complaints.

This is a performance role. We want the vocal craft of a voice actor combined with the instincts of an experienced service professional — someone who knows how a real agent sounds de-escalating an angry caller or delivering bad news.

Responsibilities:

• Roleplay scenarios. Play a service operator across billing disputes, troubleshooting, cancellations, escalations, and service recovery — adapting tone and pacing to each situation.

• Deliver range. Give multiple takes of the same scenario with deliberate variation in emotion, formality, and energy.

• Improvise. Many sessions use scenario briefs, not scripts. Stay plausible and in character without over-acting.

• Record with partners. Join paired and group sessions, performing operator–customer exchanges live.

• Own your capture. Set up, record, verify, label, and upload your own audio — including phone-line recordings and simultaneous phone/computer capture on separate channels.

• Shape scenarios. Use your service background to flag exchanges that don't ring true and surface edge cases we've missed.

• Give feedback. Review your own and others' recordings and give specific, actionable notes.

• Document standards. Help maintain performance and recording guidelines so new performers hit a consistent bar.

What We Offer:

• Remote work on a high-impact speech program

• Preferred availability of ~40 hrs/week

• Calibration and direction calls with the team 2–5x per week

If you're a performer with real service-floor experience and a studio you control, we'd like to hear from you.
  • **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**

  • **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client’s business needs and requirements.**
