Client is looking for an analytical thinker with experience in integrity compliance, content policy, law or human rights, for our Content Policy team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for how our products may be used by people on client's family of applications. This person will be responsible for the coordination and initial drafting of regulatory obligation responses by content policy. Candidates will provide policy counsel and support across content policy teams, draft responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), coordinate content policy’s input to systemic risk assessments, provide support for Transparency Reports and audits and address regulatory takedown challenges.The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for coordinating and drafting responses to regulatory obligations to ensure content compliance. They will also manage escalations -- including by coordinating cross-functional responses to content decisions that take into consideration local regulatory compliance and international human rights obligations, product, operational considerations, and weigh up risk to provide effective policy advice to leadership and make decisions under pressure. They will also be responsible for drafting the Policy and Enforcement Gap Assessment as part of Reg Readiness and proposing compliance solutions to bridge any gaps identified.



Responsibilities:

•Join weekend on-call roster.

•Coordinate efforts to respond to regulatory obligations across the Content Policy organization.

•Coordinate the Regulatory Systemic Risk Assessments on behalf of Policy.

•Draft responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) on our content policies and compliance strategy.

•Provide support for regulatory Transparency Reports.

•Manage regulatory escalations relating to freedom of expression.

•Prepare policy and enforcement gap analysis for new integrity regulation as part of Reg Readiness.

•Propose compliance solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams.

• Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Integrity Governance Risk and Compliance, Integrity Compliance Office, Legal, Public Policy, Human Rights Policy, Content Policy, Communications.

•Act as an escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues, including on-call rotations in time zone, with potential irregular hours.



Minimum Qualifications:

•5+ years of experience working in tech policy, law, integrity compliance, human rights, government, or risk management with an emphasis on platforms and technology.

•Experience with Internet/social media content issues.

•Understanding of and experience in client policies and standards (eg: client's Community Standards).

•Demonstrates analytical-thinking and problem-solving skills and project management experience.

•Experience working cross-functionally and consensus-building.

•Understanding of client's products and principles.

•Proven written and oral skills.

•Preferable: Advanced Portuguese and/or Spanish and experience with working with Latin America.



Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

•Majority of the responsibility will be for coordinating for responses for regulatory policies.

•Transparency reports, regulatory systemic, risk assessment, etc.

•Manage regulatory escalation to freedom of expression

•Compliance solutions – for regulations coming in.

•Policy and enforcement gap analysis for new regulations.



•Purpose/Size of this team & where does this position fit within the team?

12-13 people, globally distributed in the US market. Within a functioning team in the regulatory compliance function (compliance response pillar), working directly with the CWAM. Will also be working global remit team – looking at other markets and escalations.
