• Experience in ecommerce, logistics, marketplaces, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, supply chain, or another international trade environment

Job Summary:
This role focuses on applying the export classification, through use of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Commerce Control List (CCL), to confirm whether products are classified under an Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), including EAR99. The analyst will research product information, apply established classification guidance, document conclusions, and escalate items that require additional review.
This is an opportunity for someone with experience in US export controls who wants to build specialized expertise in product classification within a global ecommerce and logistics environment.

Responsibilities:
• Review and validate export-control classifications for products supported by EIS
• Research the EAR and CCL to determine appropriate ECCN classifications and EAR99 treatment
• Evaluate product descriptions, specifications, manufacturer information, images, and other information to support classification decisions
• Identify items that may fall within a controlled ECCN and distinguish them from items classified as EAR99
• Document classification decisions, supporting rationale, and relevant research in accordance with established procedures
• Escalate complex, ambiguous, or technically sensitive classifications when additional expertise is required
• Support regular auditing and alignment with internal processes and procedures
• Work with Operations Compliance and cross-functional partners to resolve classification questions and support effective export-control controls

What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means making accurate, timely, and well-supported export classification decisions; applying the EAR and CCL consistently; maintaining clear documentation; recognizing when additional review or escalation is needed; and helping EIS maintain a strong and scalable export-compliance program.
