Medical Scribe Overview:
• The Medical Scribe supports healthcare providers by managing real-time clinical documentation and ensuring accurate, timely, and complete patient records
• This role plays a critical part in improving provider efficiency, allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care while maintaining high documentation standards
• The position involves close collaboration with providers throughout the patient visit process, including participation in daily planning discussions, observation of patient encounters, and documentation of medical information such as history, assessment, treatment plans, and physical exam findings. The Medical Scribe is also responsible for assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes and preparing after-visit summaries
• In addition to documentation responsibilities, the role supports clinical documentation improvement by reviewing medical records, identifying gaps, and assisting providers in maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Administrative support tasks include placing orders, coordinating referrals, and assisting with care team workflows
• This position offers hands-on exposure to clinical operations, value-based care, and population health, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing careers in healthcare. Success requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Job Duties:
• Observe patient visits and document encounters in real time
• Record patient history, assessments, treatment plans, and physical exam details
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Prepare After Visit Summaries
• Collaborate with providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation
• Request and review medical records
• Support clinical documentation improvement activities
• Assist with daily huddles and documentation reviews
• Place orders and coordinate referrals
• Manage administrative and documentation-related tasks
• Support care team with additional responsibilities as needed
Specific Details to Call Attention To:
• Fully onsite role (5 days per week required)
• Full-time schedule of approximately 40–45 hours per week
• Minimum 1-year commitment required (2+ years preferred)
• Typing speed of 70+ WPM strongly preferred (include on resume)
• Strong interest in healthcare or medical career paths preferred
• Hands-on clinical exposure and structured on-the-job training provided
• Additional language fluency may be required based on location
