Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years experience with configurable Business Rules Engines, rules platforms, or rules-driven systems.
• 5+ years structured software testing experience.
• 4+ years requirements gathering/documentation involving financial calculations, payment rules, or education funding formulas.
• Experience developing test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with system, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, security, and UAT testing.
• Experience with defect management and retesting.
• Experience translating requirements between technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with algebraic equations and mathematical calculations.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar requirements/defect management tools.

Preferred Qualifications
• K-12 School Finance experience.
• State/Federal government experience.
• Education funding formula experience.
• Grants or public-sector financial-system experience.
• Business Rules Engine experience.
• Financial calculation validation experience.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst / QA Lead to serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, School Finance subject matter experts, QA, and the technical development team.
This position combines business analysis and quality assurance responsibilities and will be responsible for requirements gathering, documentation of complex financial calculations and payment rules, Business Rules Engine requirements, test planning, test case development, functional testing, UAT support, defect management, and validation of financial calculations.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Analyze and document functional and business requirements.
• Document complex School Finance calculations, formulas, payment rules, adjustments, exceptions, dependencies, and special cases.
• Develop user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Document current-year and prior-year processing requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
• Support Business Rules Engine requirements and configuration.
• Maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
• Translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and business requirements for technical teams.

Quality Assurance
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Validate system functionality against approved requirements.
• Test financial calculations, payment processing, business rules, adjustments, and exceptions.
• Support system, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, responsive, and UAT testing.
• Validate migrated data and financial reconciliation results.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects.
• Coordinate defect resolution and retesting.
• Support UAT activities and tester clarification sessions.
• Support production validation.
• Maintain testing documentation and requirements traceability.
