SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with strong molecular biology and data analysis skills to join our team at Bayer. This person will work in a very collaborative environment that supports custom gene expression work and enables innovative product discovery and development throughout the Bayer Crop Science division.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• MS or higher education or 5+ year’s experience in molecular biology.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Demonstrated ability in RNA extraction and RNA handling, cDNA synthesis, PCR, and next gen sequencing library creation is required
• Experience with plasmid and primer design and associated software tools
• Familiarity with gene expression biology
• A professional and positive attitude with clear and timely communication and attention to detail
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with NGS analysis & R coding language
• Familiarity with liquid-handling or higher throughput extraction/data generation
• Proficiency with note-taking and sample tracking through LIMS systems
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Extract high quality RNA and deliver gene characterization (RACE) and associated analysis of data
• Track all work through LIMS systems
• Collaborative attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
