Job Description
Required Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent



Preferred Education:

• Associate's Degree in Microbiology or related field



Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• 01 year of experience working in a microbiology laboratory

• Familiarity with standard microbiological testing methods

• Experience handling live microorganisms in a controlled laboratory environment

• Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices



Biologist Overview:

• This position supports a microbiology laboratory team responsible for conducting routine testing to ensure product safety and quality within a consumer goods environment

• The role involves performing standardized microbiological assays, preparing laboratory materials, and maintaining compliance with established procedures and safety standards

• The technician will contribute to testing processes such as preservative effectiveness and microbial limits while ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of results

• This role requires a high level of precision, consistency, and adherence to protocols, with opportunities to work independently following completion of training

• The position also includes essential laboratory support functions, contributing to overall operational efficiency



Job Duties:

• Perform standard microbiological tests including preservative effectiveness testing, microbial limits testing time-kill kinetic studies, and in vivo testing

• Prepare microbiological media in large quantities

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including autoclaves

• Handle live microorganisms in accordance with established procedures

• Conduct basic microbiological testing and record results accurately

• Perform laboratory cleaning tasks, including dishwashing and equipment maintenance

• Report test results in a clear and timely manner



Comments/Special Instructions:

32 hours per week depending on the workload
