Job Description
Required Qualifications
• Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Experience reviewing legal documents and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with FOIA compliance and public records matters
• Government, public-sector, administrative law, or regulatory experience
• Experience drafting and reviewing IGAs, MOUs, or similar agreements
Key Responsibilities
• Review, analyze, and prepare responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests
• Manage communications and outreach related to FOIA requests and responses
• Ensure all FOIA activities are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Draft, review, and revise Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and related legal documents
• Provide legal guidance and support on assigned projects and agency initiatives
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
