Job Description
**Only qualified Photo Art Director candidates located near Columbus, OH, will be considered due to the position requiring an on-site presence. ***
Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities:
• Several years of hands-on, on-set photo art direction experience, preferably within the personal care, beauty, home, or lifestyle industries.
• Experience art directing product photography for high-SKU environments, managing a wide range of products and visual requirements.
• 8-10 years of experience in design with increasing responsibility; retail, fashion or cosmetics industry preferred.
• Strong ability to provide creative leadership; set and maintain high creative standards; and bring innovation to the business
• Excellent typography, layout, palette, image curation, and mood board abilities. Ability to fit within brand guidelines, while also opening up the boundaries
• Strong understanding of print and color, deck design, organization, and presentation flow
• Ability to create comps, mood boards, and gather references that illustrate ideas in a clear, compelling manner
• Excellent hands-on comping/design skills with programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• A keen understanding and experience utilizing AI, prompting for the best image and content results that align with brand standards
Desired Skills, Experience, & Abilities:
• Strong understanding of product photography and styling, including capturing still-life products such as bottles, packaging, and other consumer goods.
• Background primarily in on-figure or portrait photography will also be considered, provided they have an understanding of still-product photography and art direction.
Job Overview:
The Art Director develops and implements the overarching creative vision and strategy for the brand. They create visually compelling materials that support brand campaigns and projects. This role works closely with creative leads, copywriters, and strategists to bring campaigns to life.
Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize, develop, and carry out campaigns that align with the brand's guidelines and are consistent with the overall brand aesthetic.
• Develop the artistic translation of the brand strategy into cohesive and detailed presentations.
• Meet marketing budget targets as it relates to branded assets and collateral.
• Ensure creative alignment across graphic design, copy, and visual merchandising.
• Provide hands-on art direction and concepting: generating/pitching ideas, comping, creating mood boards, researching visuals, and designing assets to communicate ideas.
• Understand current trends in social media, fashion, and culture – testing new ideas to further develop and advance the creative for the business.
• Manage and develop talent by inspiring, coaching, and mentoring to continuously evaluate talent. - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
