Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study, or accepted equivalency
Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading cross-functional Agile product teams
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect, leading the design and delivery of software solutions
• 2+ years of experience working with teams that apply UX design, service design, and related design practices
• 4+ years of proven experience defining and communicating solution architecture
• 5+ years of strong communication experience, including conveying technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
• 4+ years of experience applying secure development practices
• 4+ years of experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services
• 2+ years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing
• 5+ years of experience incrementally transforming legacy systems into modern digital services
• 2+ years of experience with containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code
• 2+ years of experience working with both relational and non-relational databases
• 4+ years of experience working within public-sector digital service frameworks
Job Duties:
Solution Architecture & Digital Transformation:
• Lead the solution architecture of digital services
• Develop overall architectural plans that support citizen-centered design and Agile software delivery
• Assess and uncover existing system context
• Provide recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery and feasibility
• Develop and remain accountable for solution designs that support iterative implementation
• Analyze impacts, exposure, and risks associated with solution designs
Digital Service Implementation:
• Guide teams in implementing digital services
• Facilitate frequent product delivery to ensure successful creation of the target architecture
• Determine tactical approaches for integrations and define the target state of system boundaries and interactions
• Identify opportunities to leverage common components and capabilities across digital services
• Guide teams in creating detailed designs for solution implementation
• Review code changes
• Contribute to code changes when required to implement user stories and complete technical tasks
• Provide coaching and mentorship to product teams
Architecture Strategy & Standards:
• Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric digital services
• Identify opportunities to use common components and capabilities to accelerate service delivery
• Contribute to the development of principles, metrics, and standards for service quality and delivery
• Create architectural documentation, diagrams, presentations, and other materials appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences
