Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Education:
• Advanced degree in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of proficiency in Data Architecture and platforms such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Databricks
• Minimum 5 years of ETL/ELT logic design experience and managing multi-stage data flows
• 7 years of advanced SQL skills for data validation and root-cause analysis
• 2 years of experience with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Alation, Collibra)
• 7 years of technical documentation experience (FSD/TDD creation)
• 5 years of Power BI data research, mapping, and semantic layer experience
• Experience designing and managing data pipelines using Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Experience implementing automated quality checks, data lineage documentation, and data classification/security controls
• Experience translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements and specifications
• Strong collaboration skills with Business Process Analysts, Data Engineers, DevOps, and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Experience with Python for data analysis
• Experience with DAX/M-Code for Power BI
• Experience optimizing BI semantic layers (Power BI, Business Objects)
• Experience building AI/ML-ready data environments (clean-room data, feature readiness)
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools
• Experience in Agile Scrum delivery environments
Systems Analyst / Technical Data Analyst Overview:
The Systems Analyst serves as the primary technical resource between Business stakeholders, Business Process Analysts, the Data Management Office (DMO), and execution teams. This role translates high-level data strategies into tactical technical requirements and oversees the technical translation of data mapping, multi-stage data flows, and complex ETL/ELT logic. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Medallion Architecture (or similar) to ensure delivery of scalable, governed, and high-fidelity data assets that support data modernization initiatives.
Job Duties:
• Implement and support Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to modernize the data lakehouse environment
• Architect and manage complex ETL/ELT specifications and transformational logic for multi-directional data flows
• Oversee staging and landing zones to ensure high availability and historical data integrity for downstream consumption
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize data system scalability and processing
• Execute source-to-target data mappings and define transformation logic, including type conversions and business rules
• Implement automated data quality checks to ensure accurate and auditable data ingestion
• Integrate data privacy and regulatory standards into system design
• Use MDM and data cataloging tools to document technical metadata and maintain data lineage
• Translate stakeholder needs into detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and Technical Design Documents (TDD)
• Manage and optimize semantic layers in Power BI and Business Objects for scalable self-service reporting
• Architect data environment for AI/ML consumption, ensuring clean-room data availability and feature readiness
• Perform SQL scripting for data validation and root-cause analysis
• Analyze existing pipelines to reduce latency and improve throughput efficiency
