Job Description
Required Education:
• High School Diploma

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working for the New York State Department of Health
• Two-year minimum experience working in a professional office setting
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word, SharePoint, and Excel)
• The ability to enter data into, and extract data from, electronic databases
• The ability to work independently and on a team with different personalities
• The ability to handle multiple, shifting priorities
• Good organizational skills, including an ability to organize information into reports

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Certification in Microsoft Office products
• Previous experience with the Statewide Financial System
• Familiarity and knowledge of the Health Commerce System (HCS)
• Experience with various DOH platform software
• Knowledge and experience with computer information systems and computer programming

Job Duties:
• Answers phone calls concerning policy or procedure and directs them to the appropriate staff
• Setting up and coordinating meetings for senior staff
• Receive and process mail, fax documents, and photocopy as needed
• Maintain paper and electronic filing systems
• Prepare letters, close incident and complaint reports
• Daily office operational functions as needed by senior management
• Ad hoc assignments if priorities change
• Orient other support staff if needed
• Provide main reception coverage, maintain adequate office supplies for administration and survey staff.
• Any other ad hoc requests needed by the office or survey staff.
• There are no supervision responsibilities associated with the position.
