Job Description

Required Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working for the New York State Department of Health
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a professional office setting
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word, SharePoint and Excel)
• Ability to enter data into, and extract data from, electronic databases
• Ability to work independently and on a team with different personalities
• Ability to handle multiple, shifting priorities
• Good organizational skills, including an ability to organize information into reports
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:
• Certification in Microsoft Office products
• Experience with the Statewide Financial System
• Familiarity and knowledge of the Health Commerce System (HCS)
• Experience with various DOH platform software
• Knowledge and experience with computer information systems and computer programming
Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to provide high-level admin support by:
• Answering phone calls concerning policy or procedure and directing them to appropriate staff
• Setting up and coordinating meetings for senior staff
• Receive and process mail, fax documents and photocopying as needed
• Maintain paper and electronic filing systems
• Prepares letters, closes incident and complaint reports
• Daily office operational functions as needed by senior management
• Ad hoc assignments if priorities change
• Orient other support staff if needed
