Requirements:
• Experience- 5–7+ years in accounting; senior-level tenure required
• Close Exp- 3-7 day or equivalent compressed close; high-volume journal entries & recs
• ERP Sage ERP hands-on experience required, broader ERP familiarity a plus
Microsoft Tools-
• Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, or similar automation tools a plus — not required
• Process Improvement-Demonstrated experience improving processes that reduced cycle time, eliminated manual effort, improved accuracy, or generated measurable cost savings.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
• Brings both deep accounting fundamentals and systems/process improvement mindset
• Experienced in documenting accounting processes with rigor – including SOPs, workflow maps and desktop procedures.
• Comfortable operating independently with minimal transition support and ramp-up time
• Available to start immediately and prepared to operate at full capacity within a short onboarding window
• Has worked in a high-velocity and high-volume close environment
Overview (Senior Accountant)
Client is seeking an interim Senior Accountant to support stabilization efforts within its Record to Report (RTR) function. This is a critical, high-visibility engagement that requires a candidate who can onboard quickly and take full ownership of month-end close responsibilities with minimal ramp-up time.
The team operates on an accelerated three-day month-end close cycle. As such, only candidates with demonstrated experience in high-velocity, high-volume close environments—and a proven ability to document, standardize, and improve accounting processes—should be considered.
Responsibilities
• Own high-volume journal entry preparation and posting within a 3-day close cycle
• Prepare and certify balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple GL areas
• Execute accruals, prepaids, intercompany, and non-routine close entries under deadline pressure
• Document current-state processes and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Identify and implement process improvements that drive measurable outcomes — including reduced close cycle time, elimination of manual effort, improved accuracy, or cost savings
• Operate within Sage ERP for transactional accounting, reporting, and reconciliation activities - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
