Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Required Qualifications:
• Organization; able to prioritize tasks; curiosity to understand the “why” behind tasks
• Background in accounting or finance (experience not required but strongly preferred)
• Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications
Desired Skills
• Thorough knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
• One to two years of experience in accounting or finance activities
• Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
Works as part of a team responsible for maintaining the general ledger and records of mutual funds of varying complexity and producing end of day net asset value calculation. Prepares daily general ledger accounting, prime broker/bank cash reconciliations, advisor/portfolio management processing, corporate action application, expense accrual/payment postings, daily net asset value and mill rate determinations, portfolio pricing analysis/validations, timely internal/external information distributions, portfolio reconciliations, etc. Partners with various internal/external administrators, transfer agencies and prime brokers/custodian relationships collaborating on compliance, audit and financials, while ensuring all Fund Accounting functions are in compliance with SEC regulations and GAAP principles.
Job Duties:
• Maintain the general ledger and records of mutual funds of varying complexity
• Produce daily end-of-day net asset value (NAV) calculations
• Prepare daily general ledger accounting, prime broker/bank cash reconciliations
• Process advisor/portfolio management transactions
• Apply corporate actions
• Post expense accruals and payments
• Perform portfolio pricing analysis and validations
• Distribute internal and external information
• Complete portfolio reconciliations
Typical Day:
• Reviewing and preparing daily accounting entries
• Performing cash and transactional reconciliations
• Validating daily fund pricing
• Collaborating with internal teams and external custodians
• Supporting compliance, audit, and financial reporting activities
• Ensuring all tasks adhere to SEC and GAAP requirements - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
